"Summer Thunder" - Dye on Silk - 23.5" x 27.5" framed and matted - For Sale  -  I have an affinity for the massive windmills in our area.  They are like immense moving modern sculpture.  Last summer Nature provided a thunder and lightening storm that roared through Great Falls, MT.  A lightening strike literally melted the blades on one of the windmills.  I was curious if I could replicate such an effect.  I used a pearl gutta to create the lightening.

"Montana Cutthroat" - Dye on Silk - 28"” x 24” - Sold  - My son loves fishing and has asked me to explore other species of fish.  Playing with the color and light on the rocks continues to be an experinment.  I also played with pearl gutta to create a shimmer and shift of light on the scales.

"Montana Red Band Trout" - Dye on Silk - 11'” x 14'” - Sold  - This trout was the original Montana trout in the 1800's.  As other species were introduced, this trout became more rare, living more in more isolated pools.

"Montana Trout" - Dye on Silk - 34” x 29” - Sold -  Nearly 20 years ago I did some art work involving underwater habitats  for Fish Wildlife and Parks.  I recently decided to revisit the topic of underwater wildlife.  I also played with  clear gutta to create the dapples on the trout and the rocks.

"Montana Elk" - Dye on Silk- 22" x 18" framed and matted - Sold -  Here I wanted to play with the cool colors balanced between top and bottom.  I also tried a pearl gutta to create some texture on the Elk's fur.  Elk are iconic wildlife in Montana.  
"Oso" (Bear) - Dye on Silk - 22" x 28" - For Sale - Here I used gutta much like pen and ink to create the texture of the fur.  Greens, burgundies, and deep blues were used for shadows.  Grizzlies are only one impressive example of Montana wildlife I have seen at Glacier.

"Hidden Lake" - Dye on Silk - 14" x 18" - Sold - This is a tribute to Hidden Lake in Glacier and its beauty.  Seeing parts of Glacier charred this summer was very emotional for me.

"Untamed" - Gutta on Silk - 20" x 24" - Sold at Quick Finish at Shadows of the Past - This piece is gutta only and went to the quick finish to dye.  I have had requests for prints in the black and white form and can do that.  This pose reminds me of trying to train horses as a teenager.  Often my horse said, "I don't think so!"

"Pura Vida" - Dye on Silk Scarf - Partial View -  8" x 60" - Sold - My grandmother had lived in Costa Rica for about 20 years, and I recently was able to travel there myself.  I fell in love with the bright sticking of the locals and tried to duplicate the look in silk.  "Pura Vida" is also a friendly universal phrase from Costa Rica.  It means Pure Life.

"Summer Daisies" - Dye of Silk Scarf (which can be hung, framed, or worn)- 52" x 8" - Only section shown  - Sold, - I was demonstrating silk painting at the Montana State Fair, so I quickly grabbed some daisies from my garden to reference.  I love silk painting for its vibrancy and intense color.  This image was chosen for Colors of Fall advertising.

"Undaunted by Hail" - Dye on Silk - Sold - Lewis and Clark Foundation sponsored a competition for artists to compete to create a kite to represent our city and show in a traveling exhibit throughout the country.  The design for the 10ft kite needed to be based on journal entries of Lewis and Clark from our area.  I enjoyed reading the journals, and one involving a story of hunting near a butte while surviving a hail storm with large hail inspired my design.  I was thrilled to win the commission.  See the silk painting process page to see how the kite progressed from start to finish.

"Serenity at Sunset" - Dye on Silk- 11" x 14" - Sold - This is a smaller version of an asymmetrical design with a wolf, a controversial animal in Montana.

"Golden Harvest" - Dye on Silk - 11" x 14" -  Sold - In Autumn the edges of the wheat fields near Power, Montana have random wheat stalks standing tall after missing the blade of the combine.
